Frikadeller (Danish meatball)

Frikadeller, Mai’s heavenly Danish meatballs that fits any occasion

Frikadeller is a sort of Danish meatball that originates from the South of Denmark, but is now eaten with delight throughout the entire country.

Ingredients (H2):

500g mixed minced beef and pork

1 finely chopped onion

2 dl. Milk (semi)

1 dl. Wheat flour

1 tsp. Salt

Freshly ground pepper

Possibly finely chopped fresh parsley.

Olive oil for frying

Method (H2):

First, mix the minced meat, wheat flour, onion, salt, pepper and parsley thoroughly. Secondly, add the milk gradually while the mixture is kneaded well. Let the mixture stand and rest in the fridge for 15-30 minutes (it can easily stand a few hours, if you do not want to cook them.

Heat up a pan on medium heat with olive oil. Form frikadellerne with a spoon in the size you want them to be. (They are easier to shape if the spoon is dipped in hot water before being shaped)
